B.I.S.H. Foundation makes first donation towards cancer research

Cancer is a serious problem that affects the lives of numerous individuals in our community and around the world.  Cancer will continue to affect people’s lives negatively until better treatments are available and a cure is found.  The B.I.S.H. Foundation was started to help do just that.

A foundation built on the hope of surviving cancer, many of its members have personally experienced the struggles of this disease.  The B.I.S.H. Foundation was formed in late 2010 and started its fundraising efforts in early 2011.   As a result of their efforts, the board members presented a check in the amount of $20,000 to The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

“We want to thank the community and media for their support and as a result we were able to make this donation to such a great cause," said Foundation President Darlene Gonzalez.  "We are excited about 2012 and look forward to making an even larger donation next year.”

The B.I.S.H. Foundation is dedicated to generating and providing resources necessary for organizations who conduct research in finding a cure for, preventing, eliminating and the treatment of cancer.  Our mission also encompasses assisting cancer patients in need, and helping educate the community about cancer.  Please visit our website at www.bishfoundation.net for more information about our organization and "Like" our page on Facebook.
