Video: San Antonio NAACP Freedom Fund Dinner
Watch video from the San Antonio branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People's annual Freedom Fund Dinner in La Villita Assembly Hall Friday.
The night's theme was "One Nation, One Dream," with a keynote speech by Alethea R. Bonello, NAACP Field Organizer for Operations and Membership.
The local group is honoring Josue "Joe" Robles, President and CEO of San Antonio-based USAA, along with Aaronetta Pierce and Laura Banks-Reed for their contributions to the community.
Pierce is a lifelong advocate for African American artists, while Reed is an educator and sought after speaker.
In 2009, Robles was named the No. 1 Veteran in Business by the Christian Science Monitor.
Disclosure: The Chair of the 2010 dinner is Charles Andrews, who also serves on the board of directors of NOWCastSA.com.
