VIA Extends Hours, Adds Location to New Year's Eve Park &Ride Service

VIA Metropolitan Transit has added a third pick-up location and is extending New Year’s Eve Park & Ride Service hours to 1:30 a.m. for those attending the Tricentennial Celebrate 300 event. VIA will offer convenient and affordable service to the Tricentennial event beginning at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 31. Return service will run until 1:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 1.

A third pick-up location has been added for this Park & Ride service, now available at:

·         Crossroads Park & Ride, 151 Crossroads Blvd.

·         Madla Park & Ride, 1584 Cantrell Drive

·         AT&T Center (Lot 7), 1 AT&T Center Parkway

The Downtown celebration happens at Hemisfair (South Alamo at East Market streets) Passengers will be dropped off at VIA’s Robert Thompson Transit Station, 183 Montana St.

Special Event Park & Ride Service fare is only $2.50 each way with discounted fares available for children, seniors, students, and active-duty military. Cash and credit cards are accepted at the Park & Ride locations. Customers may pre-purchase tickets on the free VIA goMobile app. VIAtrans customers and children under age 5 ride free. VIA bus passes are not valid for Park & Ride Service.

VIA is the Official Transportation Partner of the San Antonio Tricentennial Celebration. Convenient Park & Ride Service to Tricentennial Celebrate 300 is the first of several collaborations planned throughout 2018.
