In Texas, students K-12 are required to get shots for communicable diseases ranging from measles and mumps to diphtheria and polio. Students entering college in Texas are required to show proof of meningitis shots or recent boosters. As shown by the map below, the percentage of children with up-to-date immunizations varies considerably.
