Metropolitan Community Church Pastor Mick Hinson organized the service with a diverse group from the community.

“This is brought together by a wonderful group of 10 different faiths and 25 different organizations are involved in the effort,” said Hinson.

This year’s theme is, “Remembering, living, hoping and overcoming stigma and apathy. It’s a service that brings the entire community together in hope of educating people,” Hinson said.

“You will know that this is the face of HIV/AIDS pandemic. It affects everybody," Hinson said. "We have tried to do our best to get the word out every year, but this year we are trying to include people who think they don’t know someone with HIV/AIDS or think this doesn’t affect them. We want to empower them."
