San Antonio announces Thanksgiving holiday schedule of services

San Antonio City Hall and most municipal offices will be closed to observe the Thanksgiving holidays, Nov. 23-24, 2017.

But do you have to take the trash out on Thanksgiving? No, but there's a catch: You need to take the trash out a day early!

If you normally receive a Thursday recycling, garbage or organics collection you will be serviced on Wednesday, Nov. 22. On Friday, Nov. 24 recycling, garbage and organics recycling will be collected as usual.

Dead Animal Collection crews will not be on duty on Thursday, Nov. 23, but will return to duty on Friday, Nov. 24.

The 311 Call Center will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. It will re-open on Friday, Nov. 24 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residents can also submit City service requests through the City’s mobile app, San Antonio 311, or by visiting the self-service online portal at www.sanantonio.gov/Commpa/cityservices.
