San Antonio Asian Festival invites residents to experience the cultures of Asia

Hundreds of San Antonio residents enjoyed a taste of Asian cultures this past weekend at the Institute of Texan Cultures' annual Asian Festival.

Visitors watched traditional dance and martial arts, indulged in diverse culinary delicacies and learned about the various countries and traditions from Asia.

From palm-reading, to henna tattoos and cooking demonstrations, the San Antonio Asian Festival had a wide variety of activities available for the community. Countries such as China, India, Vietnam, Myanmar, the Philippines, Iraq, Cambodia, Japan, Pakistan and Korea were represented, among others.

The most popular attraction at this year's festival was definitely the food. Food vendors surrounded the building, offering cuisine such as yakisoba noodles, kimchee, samosas, sushi and bubble tea. Local restaurants Sushi Zushi and Tong's Thai had booths at the festival.
