TEDxSan Antonio invites nonprofits to get involved
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDxSanAntonio is a local, self organized event that brings people together to share a TED-like experience. The third annual TEDxSanAntonio will be held October 13, 2012 at Trinity University's Jane and Arthur Stieren Theatre. This year, TEDxSanAntonio is inviting the nonprofit community to get involved--to speak, attend, sponsor and volunteer. This year's overall theme is "Be Bold."
TED speakers have been described as inspirational, passionate, innovators and motivators. To me, this describes many of San Antonio nonprofit folks. From a desire to identify and support programs that address our most pressing social challenges, many nonprofits have become bold innovators. Last year, local nonprofit leaders Gordon Hartman, Pamela Taylor and Janie Barrera passionately shared their inspirational stories--how they took an idea for improving people's lives and created unique and powerful models for the betterment of our community and beyond.
If you're a nonprofit with ideas to share, you're encouraged to participate in this year's TEDxSanAntonio by applying to be a speaker. Applications are now being accepted with a deadline of June 1, 2012. Visit TEDxSan Antonio for more information and the online application form.
