San Antonio students, parents and anyone interested in attending college now have a local resource all their own to provide direction in navigating the college process. Café College, designed by the City of San Antonio and managed by the San Antonio Education Partnership, opens on Tuesday, Sept. 28 in downtown San Antonio at at 131 El Paso St.

The community is invited to help San Anto Cultural Arts paint 40th mural “Transformation,” located at Haven for Hope, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20. Bring your grandma, cousins children and friends!This is a free event and all materials are provided. No experience necessary, and participants are not required to stay the entire time. There will also be music and refreshments provided.

Films produced by teams of San Antonio filmmakers for the 48 Hour Film Project will be shown locally at 7 p.m. on Aug. 19 at the Cameo Theatre, 1123 East Commerce St.This project has traveled from city to city all over the globe for the past nine years, pushing filmmakers to their limits by assigning a genre and required elements, such as a prop or line of dialogue, and setting them loose to produce a four-minute to seven-minute short film in just 48 hours.
