Artist Diana Kersey's ceramic panels on the Mulberry Avenue Bridge at Brackenridge Park whimsically depict the life cycle of the Texas Gulf Coast Toad, from mating to egg, to tadpole to toad again.

Kersey was commissioned to do the public art under the city's Public Art San Antonio program, and she chronicled the process on her blog, dianakersey.blogspot.com

The Summer Nutrition Program, funded by the Texas Department of Agriculture, provides nutritious meals at no charge to children age 18 and younger from June 13 through Aug. 5, 2011 at 95 locations across San Antonio.  NOWCastSA created this map to help families find the closest service centers.

From 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, the Baptist Health System will bring its mobile health unit to the Central Library to offer free health screening for those persons 20 years of age and older who are at the highest risk to develop diabetes and heart disease.

Testing takes about 10 minutes and will include cholesterol, glucose and blood pressure levels, and Body Mass Index, along with risk assessments for heart disease, stroke and diabetes. The unit will be located in the Augusta Street bus zone between the library and the parking garage.

NOWCastSA received a sneak-peak tour of San Antonio's newest public park. Located at 8400 NW Military Highway, Phil Hardberger Park West is a natural area with modern amenities.
