REPLAY VIDEO: Information and general updates about the latest downtown transportation projects will be made in an open forum on Tuesday, Nov. 29. NOWCastSA will webcast the specific presentations about the Downtown Transportation Study, the HemisFair Park Area Framework Plan and the VIA Long Range Plan.The presentations will begin at 5:45 p.m. and be repeated beginning at 7:15 p.m. for those who wish to attend at the San Antonio Central Library at 600 Soledad Street. The open house begins at 5:30 p.m. and lasts until 8:30 p.m.

REPLAY THE VIDEO: NOWCastSA webcast live as the four San Antonio Bond Committees met to discuss and vote on the projects to include in the $596 million bond package that voters will decide on May 12, 2012. The committees met Nov. 14-17 and took a bus tour of selected projects on Dec. 3. On Dec. 5, 6, 7 and 8, the committees met again at the Cliff Morton Development & Business Services Center and voted on the packages to reccomend that City Council approve during its Jan. 18, 2012 meeting.

Early voting began this week for the Nov. 2 general election that will decide the Texas governorship, members of Congress, the Texas Legislature, state, district, county offices and water district board members.Early voting will end Friday, Oct. 29. The Bexar County Elections website includes a list of polling places and information.On weekdays, polling places will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Saturday, voting hours will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

REPLAY VIDEO: NOWCastSA webcast live on Oct. 24 when former U.S.  Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor and Texas Supreme Court Chief Justice Wallace Jefferson visited with civic leaders in San Antonio.The justices will discuss iCivics, a web-based education project designed to teach students civics and inspire them to be active participants in our democracy. The presentation is scheduled to begin after 7 p.m. The event is not open to the public, but the webcast will be available live and after the fact.
