East Side Adopt-A-Block and Fall Festival
San Antonio is a city in need, a city that is crying out for help.
The Dream Center San Antonio will answer the cry with Adopt-A-Block.
Approximately 100 volunteers from around San Antonio will adopt a 50-block area on the East Side of our city on Oct. 30. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., community service will occur throughout the immediate community -- cleaning yards, painting, building, and graffiti wipeouts.
The Adopt-A-Block Family Fall Festival will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the intersection of East Commerce and South Olive streets, outside the historic Friedrich Building. The festival will include live music, drama, kid’s rides, carnival games, family portraits, trick-or-treating and food. We will have public appearances by local celebrities and government officials but, most of all, we will give out smiles, hope and love.
A free Resource Fair, connecting families with resources that can assist them having a better quality of life, will also be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Please stand with The San Antonio Dream Center to provide for the needs of families in our community. Many single mothers, grandparents raising grandchildren, disabled citizens and elderly are struggling to make ends meet. The Adopt-A-Block Family Fall Festival is a way that we can make a difference by allowing them to see the resources they have access to and provide hope by meeting people who are willing to help them.
