First Thursday reading with Phillip Lopate

Phillip Lopate, Spring 2010 faculty member at Gemini Ink, will read from his works from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 6, at Gemini Ink, 513 S. Presa St.
Lopate is an essayist, novelist and poet.
According to Gemini Ink's website:
His essay collections include "Bachelorhood," "Against Joie de Vivre" and "Portrait of My Body", along with a selected best, "Getting Personal". As an editor, he contributed to the anthology "Art of the Personal Essay." His fiction includes "The Rug Merchant" and "Two Marriages"; while his latest publication is a selected poetry collection, "At the End of the Day". Currently he teaches at Columbia University and in the graduate programs at Bennington, the New School, and Hofstra University. He is the recipient of a Guggenheim fellowship, two National Endowment for the Arts grants, and a Texas Institute of Letters award.
