An hour with local author Manuel Luis Martínez

Novelist, professor and St. Mary's University graduate, Manuel Luis Martínez, will read from his third novel, "Day of the Dead", from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 30, in the Chaminade Tower Garden Room, St. Mary's University. The reading will be followed by conversation and refreshments.
Martínez, who grew up on San Antonio's West Side, is an Associate Professor of American and Chicano Literature at Ohio State. His first novel, "Crossing", is about the ordeal of crossing the border clandestinely. His second novel, "Drift", tell the story of the hardships growing up poor on the West Side.
