San Antonio Latino Voices for Animal Rights community fundraiser and kickoff rally
San Antonio Latino Voices for Animal Rights (SALVAR) will hold its kickoff rally from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 5 at Camargo Park, 5738 Castroville Road, on the South Side of San Antonio.
According to event organizers:
"SALVAR is holding this rally on the South Side to celebrate Latinos' willingness to tackle animal rights issues head-on. We invite area business leaders, community leaders, animal rights organizations, politicians and citizens of San Antonio to join us."
"The state of welfare for our helpless animals cannot continue, and it will not change without the direct involvement of our Hispanic and Latino community. We can solve this problem ourselves and must come together to show our intent to be involved and let everyone in San Antonio know that Latinos have a voice and we intend on using it."
"The first step is coming together. Let's make it happen and change our city for the better."
