Women artists needed for corn-theme exhibit to bring awareness to corn crisis in indigenous communities

The Esperanza Peace and Justice Center is calling on local female artists to participate in a June 4 corn-theme exhibit to bring awareness to the drastic rise in corn prices that's creating a crisis in indigenous communities that rely on corn as a food staple.

The traveling contemporary exhibit originates in Oaxaca, Mexico and will combine art from there and from San Antonio.

The exhibit will be held at the Esperanza Peace and Justice Center located at 922 San Pedro on June 5, 2011.
