The March edition of Dance at Radius, a monthly showcase and forum for dance in San Antonio, will be held 7:30 p.m. March 12 in the Radius Building, 106 Auditorium Circle, across from the Municipal Auditorium.
Dance at Radius is a showcase for dance companies and artists. It is also a forum providing opportunity to discuss Dance and Dance related issues in an informal setting.
Free and open to the public.
This month, Dance at Radius will feature dances by Erica Wilson-Perkins and the PACDance Performance Group and The SAPHILA, Latin Jazz Project. The Network of Young Artists and several spoken word poets have been invited to read, perform and improvise with the dancers.
The evening will be divided into two parts:
- Interactive program designed to demonstrate the relationship between the creation of choreography and the finished process of dance performance
- Music, poetry and dance improvisation
The Cyber Café will be open during the performance. Cash only.
Ms. Wilson-Perkins is the Lead Dance instructor at Palo Alto College. Since coming to San Antonio she has danced with several local groups and choreographed for several others. She has danced with the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Company in Denver and with the Urban Bush Women based in New York and Florida. Ms. Wilson-Perkins also claims as a favorite student the artistic director of The Dayton Contemporary Dance Company (DCDC) coming to the Carver Community Cultural Center in May.
