Woman without Borders, Esperanza Peace and Justice Center's 25th Anniversary

Esperanza Peace and Justice Center will begin it's 25th anniversary celebrations with a concert featuring Latin Grammy award-winning artist Lila Downs. To coincide with the concert Downs will be releasing a new album, Sins and Miracles, which explores religion, evil and redemption against the backdrop of a Mexico wracked by drug violence.

“Lila represents so much. She is what Esperanza is all about. She sings and talks about immigration, about poor people, women, women who are being killed, not just in Juarez but around the world,” said the director of the non-profit advocacy organization, Graciela Sanchez.

The event will take place March 11, 2012 at Laurie Auditorium, Trinity University, 715 Stadium Drive, San Antonio, TX 78212.

Tickets will be on sale February 1, 2012 at the Laurie Auditorium Box Office. $12 - $27

To help underwrite the event, those interested can meet the artist at an after-party fundraiser. For more information about this, contact Susana Segura at the Esperanza at (210) 228-0201.
