William Schlecht


Schlecht specializes in business law at the Law Office of William Rogers Schlecht PLLC in San Antonio.  As M&A counsel, he has negotiated oil and gas, heavy construction, and communications transactions around the globe with a total value in excess of $200 billion.  He served as AT&T's lead counsel in joint ventures with Yahoo!, DishTV, BellSouth (Cingular Wireless), DirecTV, and Cox Communications.  He also was AT&T’s lead counsel in the first-ever tax-advantaged wireless tower monetization and the first-ever acquisition of a cable television company by a phone company.  He represented the FDIC in devising the first-ever live foreclosure auction of an open bank. He banged the gavel.

Schlecht is the co-founder of Neighbors Helping Neighbors - San Antonio that coordinates assistance of war refugees.  He serves on the boards of NOWCastSA (nonprofit news organization) and the Whitley Theological Center at Oblate School of Theology (assists non-profits).

Schlecht earned his Bachelor's degree from Drury University where he was President of the Student Union Board and a member of the Seven Sages.  He received his JD from the University of Missouri, where he was a Curators Scholar and Editor of the Missouri Law Review.  He served as law clerk to the Honorable John R. Gibson, with the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
