Students at Lanier High School set Guiness record tamalada

Spices, Christmas music and laughter filled the Lanier High School band hall as students, staff and community volunteers worked all day  toward a goal of achieving Guinness World Record status with a tamalada on Dec. 7, 2011.

The City of San Antonio released its Fiesta San Jacinto holiday services schedule for Friday, April 22, 2016. And yes, you will have to take out the trash. But you won't have to pay to park at downtown on-street meters!

Recycling, organics recycling and garbage will be collected Friday, April 22 as usual, while City Hall and most municipal offices will be closed to observe the Fiesta San Jacinto holiday. City services will operate as follows:

Updated for 2019: Whether or not you have the day off on Presidents Day, Feb. 18, you may still be wondering, "Will my garbage be picked up?"
