Replay the video: San Antonio Mayor Julián Castro delivered a United State of the City address to a crowd of more than 1,000 people, calling for an investment in a "Brainpower" community.

"Now is the time to have the conviction to say that if Austin or if Washington is going to pass the buck, we're not going to leave our destiny to chance," Castro said. "We're going to lead by investing when other cities are retrenching."

NOWCastSA webcast live as the SA2020 final report made its debut at a public party, barbecue and rally on the Bill Miller Plaza of the UTSA Downtown Campus.

Besides Mayor Julian Castro and SA2020 tri-chairs Graham Weston, Sonia Rodriguez and Daryl Byrd, the event featured many partners who have agreed to carry out parts of the community's vision for the year 2020.

Parents, neighbors and teachers from the East Side gathered Tuesday, March 8 at Wheatley Middle School for a public forum that gave education and developmental outcomes for children from the school district as part of federal grant called Promise Neighborhoods.

Sixty-four teams of high school students from across Texas, the United States and Mexico are building robots as big as 120 pounds in the Alamo Regional First Competition being held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.

The FIRST Robotics and Tech Competitions on Thursday, March 3 showcases some of the brightest young technical brains who will compete for scholarships, a spot in the FIRST Championship, and, as organizers say, "bragging rights" by building robots from kits and parts.
