Applicants sought for City Council District 9 vacancy

The San Antonio City Council is seeking applicants to temporarily fill the District 9 Council vacancy.  Interested individuals can obtain an application and Financial Disclosure Statement in person at the Office of the City Clerk, located on the second floor of City Hall, 100 Military Plaza, during regular business hours or online at

A completed application, letter of interest, resume, and Financial Disclosure Statement from each applicant will be accepted beginning Monday, Oct. 21, 2013 until 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 in the Office of the City Clerk.

Applicants must be a United States citizen, be at least 18 years of age, and be a registered voter of the City of San Antonio.

On Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the “B” Room of the Municipal Plaza Building, 114 W. Commerce St., the City Council will conduct applicant interviews.  At the regular Council meeting scheduled for 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013 in City Council Chambers, the City Council will interview up to three selected applicants and vote to fill the vacancy. The appointee will assume the District 9 seat following the administration of the Oath of Office.
