More than 1,400 women are expected to attend the Chosen Women’s Event whose goal is to empower women to fulfill their purpose and passion in life.
The annual event kicks off at 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28 at Summit Christian Center, 2575 Marshall Road, 78259. The event continues from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29.
“Chosen is an event for all women to come together and be empowered to be confident in who they are, who they were made to be, and the gifts and talents they have to fulfill their dreams and goals in life,” said Cindy Godwin, founder of Chosen and executive pastor of Summit Christian Center. “It’s not just for women who go to church; it’s for women all over the city who have a desire to grow and be more secure in who they are. It’s also an opportunity for ladies to meet new friends and be around other supportive women who will encourage them along the way.”
The 13th annual event will feature guest speakers, including New York Times best-selling author Lisa Bevere, as well as a special performance by “America’s Got Talent” Top 10 finalist Kechi Okwuchi, among other program activities.
“Kechi Okwuchi is a symbol that no matter what obstacles you face, you can arise and overcome,” Godwin said. “We also will have Lisa Bevere, who is a New York Times bestselling author, whose mission is to empower women of all ages to find their identity and purpose. There will be shopping, lots of girl time, a pamper zone to get free chair massages, and an after-party on Friday night with dancing, a DJ and lots of yummy treats.”
Cost is $80 with payment options and scholarships available. To register or for more information, visit www.chosensa.com. Online registration is until Sunday, Sept. 23; otherwise, tickets can be purchased at the door for $100.
Godwin founded Chosen in 2005 because of heart’s desire for people of all ages, races, genders and backgrounds to discover who they are in Christ and know they are chosen to part of God’s awesome plan.
