Fiesta just got a little spicier

8th annual Chips ‘N Salsa on April 12 benefits SA Youth

Whether you like it hot, medium or spicy, plan on attending the 8th Annual Chips ‘N Salsa, an official Fiesta event that benefits SA Youth during a night of sizzling salsa dancing, casino games, food and revelry.

Chips ‘N Salsa is from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, April 12 at El Tropicano Riverwalk Hotel, 110 Lexington Ave. All proceeds benefit SA Youth, a nonprofit that serves at-risk, urban kids to ensure they stay off the streets and engaged in school during the critical out-of-school time hours after the school bell rings.

“An event like Chips ‘N Salsa is a wonderful way to bring San Antonio together to benefit our local youth who need support and encouragement to finish school and be successful,” said Cynthia Le Monds, CEO of SA Youth. “We’ve been helping students reach their dreams for 29 years, but we can’t do it without the community’s support.”

So, Chips and Salsa 2011what makes Chips ‘N Salsa so hot and spicy? Not only does the event include a number of casino game tables where patrons can roll the dice and play cards, guests will get a chance to show off their salsa moves on the dance floor or sit back and enjoy the live salsa band as well as top 40 hits and pop music. There will also be plenty of appetizers and drinks, and a silent auction with great items up for bid. While at the event, attendees will get the opportunity to meet the 2014 Chips King and Salsa Queen.

Tickets to the event are $50 in advance and can be purchased online at Tickets are $55 at the door. Each ticket includes general admission, live music, appetizers, $500 in casino chips, and an official Chips ‘N Salsa Fiesta medal.
