KISS: Kids, Immunizations, School Supplies

Where can you find all the back-to-school events, health fairs and clinics where you can get free backpacks and school supplies, free and low-cost immunization shots? On NOWCastSA's bit.ly/KISSMap.

More than 70 events are listed on the 2019 map. Click the boxes at the bottom to search for events by date, or type your address in the search field to find the event closest to you. Click on the marker for event details and directions to get there by car or public transportation.

  • See something missing? Add your own events directly to the map below, by going to the full-page map and select ADD MARKER - DETAILED from the Additions menu. (We'll check it first before we publish it!)

In Texas, students K-12 are required to get shots for communicable diseases ranging from measles and mumps to diphtheria and polio. Students entering college in Texas are required to show proof of meningitis shots or recent boosters. As shown by the map below, the percentage of children with up-to-date immunizations varies considerably. The complete lists of state requirements, in English and Spanish can be found by clicking here: immunizations.
