NOWCastSA is teaming up with The Big Give S.A., a 24-hour day of giving that will take place from midnight to midnight on May 6, 2014.
The purpose of this community-wide giving challenge is to increase public awareness of the impact local nonprofits make in addressing our community’s social challenges, bring nonprofits and donors together, expand the idea of online giving, connect people to the causes that move them the most and, of course, make giving FUN. It is turning giving into a shared city-wide experience to significantly impact the future of San Antonio and collectively move the city forward.
The goals of The Big Give S.A. are to:
- INVEST strategically in Bexar County nonprofits
- DRIVE our community forward through collective impact
- LEVERAGE giving with matching funds and prize incentives
On May 6, anyone can make an online gift to a participating organization - including NOWCastSA - and your gifts will give your favorite nonprofit the opportunity to earn matching funds and prize incentives. You can give by phone, tablet, or computer and your gift has the capacity to leverage additional funding.
More than 300 Bexar County 501(c)(3) organizations have registered to participate in The Big Give S.A.
NOWCastSA is proud to be a The Big Give S.A. partner. NOWCastSA staff have provided social media training to participating organizations at no coast (click here to see what we did) and will also webcast The Big Give S.A. Race to the Finish party live at 6 p.m. on May 6. The webcast will be underwritten by Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas, Inc.
