The City of San Antonio collaborates with United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County and Catholic Charities on this city-wide effort to increase the financial stability of working individuals and families across Bexar County. Check each site on the map for the types of services provided.

Tax help is provided in three ways:

Virtual VITA: Drop-off your receipts and other documentation. You will get a phone call telling you when to come back to the site and sign.

Express: A line for those who have only a very simple return (1 or 2 W-2s, etc.).

My Free Taxes: Computers are available at this site for you to use to prepare your own taxes. VITA certified volunteers will be available to assist you in preparing your return.

What do I need to bring with me on my visit with VITA?

  • Valid photo identification
  • Social Security Card(s) or Individual Tax Identification Number(s) for all family members
  • All W-2 Forms
  • 1099 Forms (if applicable)
  • If filing jointly, spouse must be present to review/sign completed return
  • Copy of prior year tax return (if applicable)
  • 1099 Forms (if applicable)

VITA sites experience peak customer volume throughout February and again in April near the tax deadline. All filers should arrive early and allow plenty of time when visiting a VITA site for tax preparation.

Call 2-1-1 for free assistance in English or Spanish.
