Map: Free tax preparation service

UPDATED for 2022: Where you can get free help preparing your income taxes? Check out the map of Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) offices in San Antonio.

Individuals and households who earned up to $55,000 in total income last year are eligible for free income tax preparation and electronic filing.

As coronavirus, COVID-19 continues to spread across the U.S. and the globe, the VITA San Antonio Coalition is responding to the ever-changing circumstances. The health and safety of the community and its residents is our number one priority.

Sites will operate a bit differently this year. All sites will operate using the “drop-off” method. This means that the taxpayer will need to bring copies of their documents (see below). Most sites will not be able to make the copies due to staffing limitations so please bring copies of your documents to the site. Once a return is prepared you will be contacted to review and sign the return.

Click on the site in the map above to get the location and operating hours. Current version of the brochure is here.

Type your location into the search field of this mobile-friendly map to find the VITA location nearest to you and see the hours and services offered. (Scroll down for a link to an AARP map to even more tax-help sites.)
