U.S. Rep. Charles Gonzalez (D-Texas) is scheduled to attend the next Healthy Kids Breakfast set for 9 a.m., Monday, August 15.
The breakfast will include a discussion and presentation involving the congressman, and is presented as part of the Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities Partnership and SA Metro Health. Last year, NOWCastSA worked with Westside residents to tell their stories about how to build a healthier community.
The program will have three main objectives, according to a news release:
- Describe current issues in Washington, D.C., which impacts the lives of Westside residents, particularly youth.
- Overview local health grant efforts on the Westside to combat childhood obesity and chronic disease generally.
- Community dialogue with residents to discuss issues affecting the community.
The breakfast will be held at El Progresso Hall at 1306 Guadalupe Street. Anybody wishing to attend the breakfast is asked to RSVP to David Clear by Friday, August 12, by calling (210) 207-2002 or emailing email@example.com.
