Providence Catholic School holds "Jeans for Teens" drive

Providence National Honor Society "Jeans for Teens" Drive

WHEN: Monday, Jan. 13 through Friday, Jan. 24, 2014 (The school is closed on Monday, Jan. 20, 2014 for MLK Jr. Day)

WHO: The Providence Catholic School National Honor Society (NHS) is promoting a collection of gently-used jeans in any color and any size for the homeless youth of San Antonio. The national clothing store Aeropostale is running the jean drive in conjunction with  Members of the Providence NHS will personally deliver jeans to Haven for Hope to be distributed to those teens in the most need. We are asking the Providence community and the local San Antonio community to help us with this worthy campaign.

WHY: Each semester, the Providence NHS adopts a community service project that benefits a local, worthy organization and addresses a major issue. This year members chose to be involved in “Teens for Jeans” to help the homeless youth living in our community. Haven for Hope is an organization directly connected to helping the homeless, and therefore, will be the distributor of all jeans collected through this project.

ABOUT: Providence Catholic School is the only all-girls Catholic school, for grades 6 through 12, in San Antonio.
