SA Youth Asks Candidates to Throw Their Crown into the Ring for Chips 'N Salsa, Official Fiesta Event

Have you ever fantasized about riding atop a Fiesta float, adorned in a regal sash and glittering crown while waving to throngs of festive parade-goers?

Make that dream a reality by running as a king or queen candidate for Chips ‘N Salsa, an official Fiesta event benefitting SA Youth. The nonprofit organization keeps at-risk, inner-city kids off the streets and engaged in learning after the school bell rings.

SA Youth seeks candidates to apply to be this year’s Chips King or Salsa Queen, who will represent the organization at all official events, including presiding over Chips ‘N Salsa on Friday, April 22 at the Plaza Club and riding on the SA Youth float during the Fiesta Flambeau Parade. Candidates must raise a minimum of $10,000 by April 18 to be crowned this year’s royalty.

“Being crowned Chips King or Salsa Queen is a great way to experience what it’s like to be king or queen for a day, so to speak, while raising money to impact the lives of at-risk youth,” said Mae Escobar, event planner for Chips ‘N Salsa.

Chip’s N Salsa allows you to be a high-roller and try your luck at the casino game tables, play cards, show off your salsa moves on the dance floor and enjoy the live salsa band. There will also be food and drinks and a silent auction.
