The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), South Central Texas Chapter received a $210,000 donation from TETCO and the Turner family to assist the nonprofit in its search to find a cure for type 1 diabetes, a life-threatening autoimmune disease.

“TETCO has been such an amazing partner with JDRF and the Walk to Cure Diabetes since its inception,” said Shannon Nisbet, JDRF, South Central Texas Chapter executive director. “They have raised more than $1,010,000 for us since 2005, which places them at the top of local funders of the Walk to Cure Diabetes.  Their leadership and commitment is unparalleled.”

“As part of TETCO’s commitment to give back to the San Antonio community, we are proud to support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation,” said Jon Turner, TETCO vice chairman. “I’ve also seen a lot of kids who have type 1 diabetes when I was on the board of JDRF, and we want to help find a cure for all kids.”

JDRF is the leading charitable funder and advocate of type 1 diabetes research worldwide. The mission of JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. According to JDRF statistics, 40 children and 40 adults are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes nationally every day.
