Webcast: 2018 Young Pegasus Poetry Contest and Reading

For the first time since the San Antonio Public Library’s  Young Pegasus Poetry Competition began in 1927, NOWCastSA webcast the event live on Sunday, May 6 at 2 p.m. from the Guadalupe Theater.

Thanks to support from the San Antonio Public Library and the San Antonio Public Library Foundation, anyone can watch live or replay it for free right here on this page.

Open to those 18 and younger, the Young Pegasus Poetry Competition is the longest-running youth poetry event in the country.

From more than 2,200 poems submitted in this year’s contest, the judges deemed more than 50 to be worthy of publication in the annual Young Pegasus Anthology.

Previous Young Pegasus poets have included Jay Brandon, Henry Cisneros, Naomi Shihab Nye and State District Court Judge Michael Mery.
