The guest speaker was Lee Woodruff, author of the 2007 book, In an Instant, the 2009 collection of essays, Perfectly Imperfect: A Life in Progress, and the 2012 novel, Those We Love Most.
Woodruff and her husband established the Bob Woodruff Foundation to assist wounded service members and their families.
The luncheon was produced by the Mayor's Commission on the Status of Women and helped raise funds for the group's Pathways to Leadership Scholarship fund. Speakers included: St. Philip's College President Dr. Adena Williams Loston, Commission on Women Chair Sonia Rodriguez, San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, San Antonio City Manager Sheryl Sculley, and Woodruff. Ursula Pari of KSAT 12 was the Mistress of Ceremonies.
