Webcast: City Council B Session from Haven for Hope

On Wednesday, June 17, NOWCastSA webcast the San Antonio City Council B Session from the campus of Haven for Hope. The meeting included a briefing on Haven for Hope Campus Development, current programming, and related homeless initiatives.

During the briefing, San Antonio Human Services Director Melody Woosley and Haven for Hope CEO Mark Carmona mentioned several nonprofit partners who help Haven succeed. The list includes: Roy Maas' Youth Alternatives, Seton Home, SAMMinistries, American GI Forum, Family Violence Prevention Services Women’s Shelter, Grace House, Thrive Youth Center, Travis Park Church,  Animal Care Services, San Antonio Public Library, Kronkosky Charitable Foundation, SA Christian Dental Clinic, students at the UTSA Dental School,  Clarity Child Guidance, the San Antonio Salvation Army, Catholic Charities of San Antonio, Goodwill Industries of San Antonio, the San Antonio Food Bank, all of the school districts, and the Center for Health Care Services.

In addition, Carmona pointed out that members and guests have worked on House of Neighborly Service, built homes for Habitat for Humanity and built ramps for food pantries as part of their recovery.
