Replay the video of the webcast of a community conversation with State Representative Diego Bernal about education policy in Texas on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Guadalupe Cultural Arts.
In August, Bernal published a report, “What They Said: What I Learned from Conversations with Texas Educators,” chronicling his conversations with educators from all 55 traditional public schools in House District 123.
Bernal calls the report “a blueprint for nonpartisan, common-sense education policy in Texas” that highlights common points made by educators.
During two community meetings, Bernal is collecting community feedback on policy proposals prompted by the report, including increasing instruction time for teachers, addressing chronic student hunger, providing “wrap-around services” to students, and filling other needs identified by educators.
