The summit organizers aim to establish a formal Researcher-Practitioner Partnership in Global Educational Research. The intent of this international research team will be to:.
- Make a collective commitment to identify and investigate relevant educational issues
- Make joint decisions to develop innovative models that will lead to improving student achievement, social and behavioral development
- Build an international alliance between researchers and participants in the planning, implementation, and dissemination of the research process, findings, and sustainability (development and implementation of future research projects)
The summit will include four panels and a morning and an afternoon of plenaries, which will be organized into research areas: Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), biliteracy/ESL/TESOL, teaching/pedagogy, arts and education; immigration/migration, community development, and publication and dissemination. Representatives from different countries will form part of each panel ensuring that different sectors of the world will be able to discuss some of the initiatives within those research fields. Emmy award-winning actor Tony Plana will present the keynote address on the arts and education.
