Replay the video frrom NOWCastSA's webcast of the mayoral candidate forum on making San Antonio more livable for all generations on April 14, 2015 in the auditorium of Palo Alto College.

The debate was made possible by the financial support of AARP Texas.

Candidates Tommy Adkisson,  Ivy Taylor, Leticia Van de Putte and Mike Villarreal discussed the issues in a debate moderated by San Antonio Express-News journalist Elaine Ayala.

Among the topics will be safe and walkable streets, better housing and transportation options, access to key services and opportunities for residents to participate in community activities.

AARP also provided a mayoral election voter’s guide, featuring the positions of the candidates on these issues.

The debate centered on the theme of building San Antonio into the best “Age-Friendly Community” possible. Last year the city became part of the AARP Network of Age-Friendly Communities, which encourages outdoor spaces, transportation, housing, social inclusion, civic involvement, technology, community support and health. Well-designed, livable communities promote health, sustain economic growth, and make for happier residents.
