Webcast: Mayoral candidates discuss nonprofit impact in San Antonio

Replay the video from the San Antonio Mayoral Candidate Forum, "Vision for Nonprofit Impact," at the Whitley Theological Center on April 7, 2015. The event was hosted by the San Antonio Nonprofit Council and Clarity Child Guidance Center and sponsored by Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas, Inc.

During the forum, mayoral candidates Mike Villarreal, Leticia Van de Putte, Tommy Adkisson and Ivy Taylor were asked to address issues including the city's role in mental health care, improving student and school success, increasing audible traffic resources for blind pedestrians, funding for child abuse and domestic violence, ensuring residents a living wage, the need for more affordable housing and the future and funding of nonprofits who help our most vulnerable residents.

“These issues are especially important as nonprofit organizations address many of the social issues that impact San Antonio’s generations to come,” said Scott McAninch, San Antonio Nonprofit Council executive director.

The forum will be moderated by Evan Smith, editor-in-chief, the Texas Tribune.

More than 400 people have registered to attend the event, and no more seats are available. Thanks to underwriting support from Methodist Healthcare Ministries, you can watch the webcast live or replay the video later right on this page.

Early voting begins April 27, and election day is May 9. See more San Antonio election 2015 coverage here.
