High school performers will bring live music to Alamodome in San Antonio on Friday, November 4 and Saturday, November 5 as marching bands from throughout Texas compete in the 2022 Bands of America San Antonio Super Regional Championship presented by Yamaha. For more information, click here.

Updated as of January 15th: The San Antonio Metro Health District has received another 9,000-dose shipment of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines and will begin booking appointments today for the Alamodome next week. WellMed has also received another 9,000 doses that will be distributed at two City of San Antonio senior centers next week.

Bernice Appelin-Williams was driving through an East Side neighborhood near the Alamodome not long ago, when she came upon several dilapidated houses placed atop massive flatbed trailers that she figured were destined for demolition. Piqued by a penchant for exploring abandoned properties, she took out her camera and snapped away.

A new book by Heywood Sanders, a professor of Public Administration at University of Texas at San Antonio, takes a hard look at the history, politics and development of convention centers across the United States. Sanders talked about his  book, Convention Center Follies: Politics, Power, and Public Investment in American Cities, on Oct. 29, 2014 at UTSA's downtown campus.

In front of a U.S. Army All-American Bowl record crowd of 39,011, the West squad defeated the East 24-12. Saturday’s win evens the overall series 6-6 in the 12th annual game held in the Alamodome. San Antonio was represented by Sam Houston High School’s defensive end Javonte Magee who dealt a ferocious hit on the first play of the game to pump up the West crowd.
