Players will enjoy the beautiful terrain of both of the exclusive TPC San Antonio The Oaks and Canyons Golf Courses while fighting hunger in our community. Every dollar raised by the golf tournament will provide seven meals to those in need in Southwest Texas.   7:30 AM Registration 8:00 AM Tournament Start 1:00 PM Lunch & Awards   Tournament registrations available on both The Oaks and Canyons courses for individuals, foursomes, or corporate sponsors.

On Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m, Voluntary Income Tax Assistance (VITA) will host its annual kickoff press conference and resource fair to formally launch the city’s free tax preparation service. VITA Volunteer Tax Preparers will be on site to help citizens making up to $60,000 annually file their income taxes free of charge. Showing their support, Chair of the United Way Strengthening Families Issue Council Bill Gold, Councilwoman District 3 Rebecca Viagran, and State Representative Mike Villarreal will attend the kickoff.

Girls Inc. of San Antonio will host its 8th Annual Girls RockIt Into the Future Science Festival presented by Rackspace on Saturday, March 29, 2014. The event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Port San Antonio, 200 Donald Goodrich Rd.  We hope that you will join Girls Inc. again this year for an educational blast focused on getting girls interested in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics!

Girls Inc. of San Antonio hosted its 8th Annual Girls RockIt Into the Future Science Festival presented by Rackspace on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Port San Antonio. The goal of the Festival is to get girls (and boys, too!) interested in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. NOWCastSA's participation in this year's event was sponsored in part by a grant from the Best Buy Children's Foundation. Check out our video of fun highlights from the festival below.

American Indians in Texas (AIT) was founded 20 years ago in San Antonio to preserve and protect the culture and traditions of indigenous people.  In the span of two decades, AIT has sponsored or participated in several dozen Pow Wows in Texas. United San Antonio Pow Wow is a non-profit charted organization whose purpose is to promote the traditions and culture of the American Indian and enlighten the non-Indian about the history and culture of the Native Americans.

Due to the predicted rain and thunderstorms for Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, Park(ing) Day is being rescheduled to Friday, Sept. 27, 2013.  The Center City Development Office in partnership with the Downtown Alliance/Centro will host PARK(ing) Day on Friday, Sept. 27, 2013 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Park(ing) Day takes and transforms parking spaces into small parks or other creative uses for a day. The original concept for PARK(ing) Day was developed in 2005 by an art and design studio in San Francisco called Rebar and the event has grown each year since then.
