Casa Navarro State Historic Site will be celebrating its recent designation as a National Historic Landmark on Feb. 25. Local, state and national representatives will also be on hand to celebrate the birthday of the Texas patriot.

After 33 years, The Paisano has moved into a new “lite-green” home especially designed for the University of Texas San Antonio student newspaper. Undergraduate and graduate students from the College of Architecture guided the design for The Paisano Media Arts Center, now located at 14526 Roadrunner Way, Suite 101, about two blocks south of UTSA's main campus.

On Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014 the ICAA Lecture Series welcomes James Doyle and Kathryn Herman "The Language of Landscape: Simplicity of Scale and Structure." The two award-winning architects will discuss work from their new book The Landscape Designs of Doyle Herman Design Associates and share images from their international work of their architecture and landscape using strong geometry, bold forms and clean symmetry.

The American Institute of Architects San Antonio Committee on the Environment (COTE) will present "Citizen Architect," a film on the late architect Samuel Mockbee and the radical educational design/build program known as the Rural Studio, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, May 13 on the front lawn of the Pearl Brewery, 312 Pearl Parkway. The community is invited to this one-hour screening of the documentary before it is released nationwide. Bring a blanket or chairs. Food available for purchase.
