Democratic gubernatorial candidate Beto O'Rourke held over 15 student events at college campuses across Texas. According to O’Rourke’s campaign page, each college tour was an opportunity to get registered, get organized, and commit to the work ahead. Texas Governor Greg Abbott, a Republican, will debate his Democratic challenger, Beto O’Rourke in a televised debate On Friday, Sept. 30, at 7 p.m. Central Time.
The face-off, which will take place at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley campus in Edinburg, Texas, is the only debate scheduled between Abbott and O'Rourke. It will be produced jointly by Austin's KXAN-TV and Harlingen's KVEO-TV.

On June 4 2022, the #StandWithUvalde event at Travis Park hosted by Voto Latino gathered San Antonio leaders, community members, and speakers in a peaceful demonstration to “turn anger into advocacy”.
