LONG-BIN CHEN is an internationally renowned artist who has exhibited widely in the United States, Germany, Taiwan, Japan, and Hong Kong. At first glance, his sculptures appear to be stonework, but they are actually created with printed material such as telephone directories, books, magazines, and newspapers. Experience this exhibit Tuesday and Thursday 4 – 8 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Group tours are available. Please call 210-207-2577 for more information.

The Mayor’s Summer Reading Club and the Summer Reading Program encourage children and teens to read during the summer to maintain current reading levels. Author, song writer, and United Kingdom's Children’s Laureate (2011-2013) Julia Donaldson stopped by San Antonio Central Library on April 20, 2013 to read and sing her works. She covered a range of her books including her first song turned book, A Squish and a Squeeze, The Gruffalo, Tula The Fish Who Cried Wolf and Zog.

Providence Catholic School Sophomore Aedan Richter is a prolific book review writer.  Since September, Richter has written a weekly book review for the Teens’ Blog of the San Antonio Public Library website. It probably helps that Richter is also an avid reader. “I’ve loved reading ever since I was little,” said Richter. “I always have my nose in a book.”
