Youth, ages 6 to 14, are invited to participate in a wide variety of activities offered in a safe, structured environment during their upcoming break from school. The Parks and Recreation Department will host Spring Break Camps at 16 community centers beginning Monday, March 10, through Friday, March 14.  Participants will enjoy age-appropriate arts and crafts, sports, and games.

Summer cross country (running) camp for high school students ages 14-18. San Antonio Public Library is currently accepting applications for its “News Know-how” program, a two-week media literacy program for teens grades 10 -12.  There are 15 participant openings and the program will run July 22 – August 2, 2013 at Central Library.

Enrollment for Girls Inc. of San Antonio’s annual Glenda Woods Girls University summer camp is going on now.  The 2013 session of Glenda Woods Girls University will take place at three sites around San Antonio this summer, serving a total of 140 girls from June 10 through August 16, 2013, Monday through Friday from 7:45 am to 5:30 pm.

Leave No Trace is an international program designed to assist outdoor enthusiasts with their decisions about how to reduce environmental impact when they hike, camp, picnic, run, bike, hunt, paddle, ride horses, fish or climb. The program strives to educate all those who enjoy the outdoors about the nature of their recreational impacts as well as techniques to prevent and minimize such impacts.

Morgan’s Wonderland will host an indoor soccer clinic for children with special needs ages 6 to 15 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 26 at the Event Center at Morgan’s Wonderland, 5223 David Edwards Drive (at the intersection of Wurzbach Parkway and Thousand Oaks Drive just off IH 35 in Northeast San Antonio).
