The Clothesline Muse will transport you to a time, where the seemingly mundane, yet honorable, task of washing clothes by hand is transformed into beautiful imagery, dance, and song. The clothesline serves as a metaphor for connecting people, their shared stories and collective histories. This multi-disciplinary theater performance is at the Carver, Saturday, March 4, 8pm and combines the talents and wisdom of three incredible artists to create an evening of live dance, live music, spoken word, video, and interactive art.

Discovered at the 2006 Montreux Jazz Festival by Quincy Jones, Cuban-born ALFREDO RODRIGUEZ has rapidly risen to stardom under the tutelage of the famed producer. Since arriving to the US in 2009, Rodríguez has appeared on prestigious stages such as the Playboy Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl and the Vienna Jazz Festivals. Rodríguez has toured China and was asked to work with Academy Award winning Chinese Composer, Tan Dun, Siedah Garrett and Quincy Jones to compose the English-version of the theme song, “Better City, Better Life,” for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo.

The delightful singer and songwriter, LISA FISCHER is no stranger to Rolling Stones fans who have seen and heard her singing backup vocals on every tour with the band since 1989. Lisa rose to fame in 1992 when she won a Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for her first single, “How Can I Ease the Pain,” from her album So Intense beating out the “Queen of Soul ” and in an unlikely tie with Patti LaBelle.
