The anti-vaccination movement is gaining strength in Texas, apparently. At least, that's a concern of Dr. Julie Boom, one of the state's leading vaccers, the director of Texas Children's Hospital's immunization project. Boom recently spoke at a conference in San Antonio, imploring health workers to recommend scheduled vaccinations as strongly as possible.

Emily Lastinger was three years old, secure at home with her parents and two older brothers. She was a healthy, happy kid. One day, though, Emily picked up the flu. Five days later, her heart stopped. And since that date, her father Joe Lastinger has waged a campaign to prevent this same type of tragedy from happening to other families.
