Updated for 2019: San Antonio City Hall and most municipal offices will be closed to observe the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 27. But do you have to take out the trash on Memorial Day? Yes. Recycling, organics recycling and garbage will be collected on Monday, May 27. The Bitters Brush Recycling Center, 1800 Wurzbach Parkway and the Nelson Gardens Brush Recycling Center, 8963 Nelson will both be open.

City Hall and most municipal offices will be closed to observe the Thanksgiving holidays Nov. 26-27, 2015. Uniform police officers and Fire/EMS personnel will be on duty. The schedule for garbage collection is as follows:

SpeakUp San Antonio encourages residents to share which city services they love and show what services or programs they would add and cut in the 2016 budget. It includes an interactive budget planning tool that lets you make changes and keep the budget balanced.

San Antonio City Hall and most municipal offices will be closed to observe the Thanksgiving holidays, Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23, 2018. But do you have to take the trash out on Thanksgiving? No, but there's a catch: You need to take the trash out a day early!

Do you have to take the trash out on Veteran's Day?  Yep, you sure do! City Hall and most municipal offices will be closed to observe the Veteran’s Day holiday on Monday, November 12, 2018. The recycling, garbage and organics recycling collection will take place. Other City services will operate as follows: Open

UPDATED January, 2019:  City Hall and most municipal offices will be closed on Jan. 21, 2019 in observation of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday. Public safety and emergency services will remain in operation. But do you have to take out the trash on the MLK holiday? No.
