The San Antonio Film Commission has launched the #FilmSA competition. Young filmmakers can showcase their talent and pride of being a part of San Antonio. The age group for those eligible to enter the contest is 14-21 years old. There will be a cash reward of $1,000 for the 1st place winner in each grade year. Their film will also be part of a screening at Mission Marquee Plaza 3100 Roosevelt Ave., on May 7, 2022 at 7 p.m.  The deadline to submit your film video will be on April 18, 2022. The League of Women Voters of San Antonio is launching a Youth Contest for high school and post-secondary undergraduate and graduate students. Winners will receive a $100 gift card, have their work published on the LWVSAA website, and will be highlighted on social media.  For more information on how to participate click here.

Goodwill Industries of San Antonio is celebrating Fiesta 2015 in a big way by commemorating its 70th Anniversary with a special Fiesta Medal contest and donation campaign. The nonprofit will give away 70 medals to Facebook fans throughout Fiesta. For a chance to win this coveted keepsake, “like” Goodwill San Antonio on Facebook and correctly answer a trivia question for that day. Selection of the winners will be done by daily, random drawing. Additionally, people can also obtain a medal for a minimum $5 donation at the downtown Goodwill store at 406 W. Commerce.

Enter the Helotes Humane Society’s Corny Dog Photo Contest and your pet could be crowned “Corny–Dog 2012” and ride on the Helotes Humane Society float during the Cornyval Parade on Saturday, May 5 in Old Town Helotes. The winner will also be awarded a basketful of prizes and have their winning photograph featured in the Helotes Echo.

Films produced by teams of San Antonio filmmakers for the 48 Hour Film Project will be shown locally at 7 p.m. on Aug. 19 at the Cameo Theatre, 1123 East Commerce St.This project has traveled from city to city all over the globe for the past nine years, pushing filmmakers to their limits by assigning a genre and required elements, such as a prop or line of dialogue, and setting them loose to produce a four-minute to seven-minute short film in just 48 hours.
