Thursday, Aug. 11, City Council will vote on the three plans that make up SA Tomorrow, the proposed blueprint for accommodating San Antonio's projected growth of 1.1 million new residents through 2040. These plans will establish our development priorities and guide numerous spending decisions in the years to come.

Updated: District 8 Councilman Ron Nirenberg proposed moving San Antonio municipal elections to November, which he said could increase voter turnout by 300 percent or more.
Speaking at University of Texas at San Antonio Civic Engagment Summit on Oct. 5, Nirenberg said the move would require a change in the City Charter and state law, and the November date "could have a profound effect on student participation."

Citizens interested in running for Council District Seats 9 and 10 in the May 10, 2014 Special City Election can purchase information packets now in the Office of the City Clerk, located on the second floor of City Hall at 100 Military Plaza. The packet cost is $30 and may be purchased during the regular office hours of Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
