Día de los Muertos, originating in Mexico, is a time when families and communities remember those dearly departed and honor the continuity of life. Every year, SAY Sí curates one of San Antonio’s most comprehensive Día de los Muertos celebrations, providing educational context to the important holiday with two days of unique cultural happenings including: a multidisciplinary showcase of student art, altars to honor the departed, family folk art workshops, food booths, an artisan mercado as well as live cultural performances highlighting local dancers, musicians and entertainers.

An award-winning piano trio with Danish musician Jens Elvekjaer (piano) and Korean sisters Soo-Jin Hong (violin) and Soo-Kyung Hong (cello), a recent Trio con Brio Copenhagen concert was praised as "one of the greatest performances of chamber music I've ever encountered" (American Record Guide). UK's Classic FM chose its Mendelssohn album as the year's Best Chamber Music Disc: "Every phrase soars and pulsates with the excitement of a fresh discovery...with skin-rippling sensitivity."

Victorian Secrets Lecture and Demonstration - Cultural anthropologist Michaele Thurgood Haynes unveils a fascinating peek into the boudoir of the Victorian Era with an array of the intimate undergarments—including the bustle, chemises and corsets—necessary then to “exaggerate the shape of a proper Victorian lady.” A live model will demonstrate the intricate procedures required to complete robing.  Haynes is author of Dressing up Debutantes: Pageantry and Glitz in Texas.

Centro Cultural Aztlan will present El Gran Dia de Los Artistas to celebrate our 41st Anniversary on Sunday, June 24, 2018, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Centro Cultural Aztlan was incorporated in June of 1977, and we are inviting you to help us mark this significant milestone by celebrating with us four decades of presenting valuable arts programs to the San Antonio community.
